TURISMO AGROPRODUCTIVO Y CONSUMO LOCAL

La Huerta es un complejo agroproductivo de constitución familiar. La familia trabaja estas tierras desde el año 1957. La mayor concentración de las actividades se concentraban en el Barrio Las 14, satélite de la ciudad de Chajarí. Este está ubicado en el área suburbana oeste separada de la planta urbana por la Autovía 14 José Gervasio Artigas, a la vera de la ruta que lleva a San Jaime. Don Miguel Pascual Caprotti fue quien donó los terrenos con una superficie de tres  hectáreas para el edificio escolar y el destacamento Policial en 1947. El nombre en el decir popular se debe a la presencia de 14 ranchos que existían en el lugar, su denominación es paraje, se formó  en tiempos de Villa Libertad, la actividad económica  era la  ganadería  vacuna y ovina. Funcionaba  el Baño Oficial imprescindible para el movimiento de la hacienda. Veneraban a Santa Bárbara como patrona del Paraje las 14  celebrando su fiesta cada 4 de diciembre con bailes, comidas y música.
